May 2006This month I got to do some work in primary schools with the Health of Men's team. The session that was delivered in the schools was about bullying. It explained how the children could go about stopping themselves being bullied and why they shouldn't put up with it. An important lesson the children learned was how they can stand up to a bully individually or as a group. Asma (the other Apprentice at Airedale PCT) and I have been asked to do a research project of our own within a disadvantaged part of Keighley (known as the P3 area). I have decided to work within the Highfield area, which I know well. I have also helped a member of the Community Health Team to devise and map a few new walking routes, which we could take groups on. Having passed my Walk Leaders course, I also got the chance to lead some walks, under supervision of course. |
