• Fire safety - the fire service came to give the children a talk and show the children a video. The fire service also did a role-play with the children on what to do in case of a fire.
• Gas - Northern Gas talked about what to do if the children thought there was a gas leak in the household and how to turn the gas off at the mains. They also did a role- play on how to check the ID of someone who comes to the door asking to come in.
• Construction Representatives - talked about all the dangers on a construction site and why you should avoid going to one. The children also got advice on why they should not drink anything from a construction site.
• Kitchen - This area was set out as an unsafe kitchen and the children had to go round and pick out the unsafe issues and explain why it is unsafe.
• Bus - Advice was given on how to behave on a bus.
• Water - Advice was given on how to swim. Then a role-play was done on how to help someone in water who can't swim and how the person, who is doing the saving, should make sure they are in a safe position themselves.
• Anti-bullying - The police came to give the children a talk on what can happen to children which bully other children. A role-play was done on how the reactions of the children can make the bully feel he/she has power and how this can be stopped.
