March 2007I have been on holiday this month and as it has been our last month for the Apprenticeship, there were many things to finish off. I want to express my overall feelings about the fantastic experience that I have had here working at Sangat as a Health Apprentice. First of all I would like KVS and Sangat Centre for giving me the opportunity to learn so much from this experience and gave me the chance to explore my ability. I have learnt so much, but in particular how to search for appropriate funding and how to apply for it. The healthy living activities that we undertook at Time Out Youth Club, working in partnership with other voluntary organisations, was great experience, as it helped me with my communication skills and also built bridges within the community. All of the effort didn't go to waste as Sangat has decided to extend my contract for another three months until the end of June and we hope to gain further funding to extend the post after June. Overall if I hadn't been given the opportunity to do this work I wouldn't have been here. The project was very well co-ordinated by Ian Peaple and he has always been very helpful and understanding. Thanks Ian. |
