July 2006July has been really busy, as I have taken over the Summer Scheme for girls, aged 8-18. Planning and organising the scheme was very challenging, as I have never undertaken such a big project before. It started on the 24th July and ran for four weeks. Several educational and recreational outings/ activities took place for the young people, ranging from Arts & Crafts, sports, cinema outings, a visit to the Cliffe Castle, ice skating, bowling, a visit to Malham in the Yorkshire Dales, Chester Zoo, Flamingo Land, a day out shopping at the Trafford Centre and a visit to Scarborough. I have also organised some dance classes in partnership with Keighley Healthy Living Network for the Time Out Youth Club (TOYC) and during the Keighley Festival week my manager asked me to organise couple of events and manage them. We decided to run Pakistani Cookery, Bangladeshi Cookery, a Poetry Session and a Henna and Nail art event. All of the events were very well attended.I have also attended a drugs awareness course at the Keighley Connections. |
