February 2007

I am still keeping extremely busy. I have recently supported four Long Lee Health Visitors in their pilot course "Coping with kids" at Hainworth Community Centre. I received really positive feedback from one of the Health Visitors in particular. This really boosted my confidence and reinforced the fact that I am applying the skills I have learnt so far within different situations.
I have also been attending the "Ignite" course run by Artworks. (a course that aims to teach those working within community settings and organisations to apply the use of arts, whether that is to engage service users or to tackle issues such as drug abuse and conflict, to name but a few.)
Again, I came away from their first session with a really positive outlook regarding what was trying to be achieved and would recommend this course to anyone interested in using arts within their work.
Anyone wishing to find out more about this course, contact the Cellar Project at Shipley.
So, altogether a great month for me with a lot of learning experiences but I can honestly say I have had fun too.
And, even though the end of the Apprenticeship is quickly approaching, I feel that I am more prepared, both skills wise and personal development wise, to seek employment within the fields I have been working.
