My thoughts of my time as a Health Apprentice

I have really enjoyed being part of the Health Apprentices team, promoting health in communities across Keighley. I believe that the skills I have developed during my work over this past 15 months, will help me when I move on to new employment. One area I feel I have improved on particularly is in my communication skills, whether it is people in the community centres at Winfield and Braithwaite, the general public or my co-workers at Keighley Voluntary Services. I feel that for somebody with a learning disability, it hasn't stopped me from working, using the phone for my own enquiries and researching on the Internet and this is another area in which my confidence has dramatically improved since I began this post. The support from the staff has been brilliant and they have been very approachable if I have ever needed advice.
This has been a valuable learning experience for me, working alongside Ian and the team and I will miss everyone.
