July 2006

I have continued working with the Over 50's Lunch Club at the Winfield Centre on Tuesdays. The club has been very successful and the members are getting to know me better. I have really enjoyed working there and getting to know them as well. With my help, the members have put together hanging baskets - they have told me they could not have undertaken this activity themselves at home. I have also been keeping the outside of the centre tidy by cutting the grass, weeding and looking after the flowers.

I am the treasurer of The Out There Club (for young people with learning disabilities) and I have been helping to organise, as well as taking part in, the summer activities scheme. The first session was a five-mile walk around Haworth and I made sure that everyone was aware of health and safety issues involved in walking around the countryside.

On a personal note, I have been to a classic bike show at Oakworth (near Keighley), displaying old British and French bikes along with some new bikes. There were loads of people there and the car park was jam packed, as it was a lovely sunny evening. I really enjoyed it.
