September 2006

I have been continuing my work at Winfield Community Centre, helping with the weekly luncheon club for the Over 50s, which is promoting healthy eating. For a special activity, we took a boat trip on the Leeds-Liverpool canal and then we had dinner in the café at the boathouse. We have also been making a banner for the centre and will be launching it later this year.

In August, I took part in the summer scheme at Winfield for the younger members. There were different activities available in the centre like snooker, table tennis and disco dancing.

I have also been involved in a project at Braithwaite Special School helping to run fitness sessions with an experienced instructor. We have been doing circuit training with the students and also learning about healthy eating.

I am enjoying my work as a Health Apprentice at KVS, doing a variety of different projects and meeting lots of new people.
