October 2006

I have been continuing my work at the Winfield Centre Luncheon Club for the Over Fifties. We have been promoting healthy eating and have, with some of the participants, discussed returning to work issues for the older people. All of this is done within a happy social environment. I have also begun working at another luncheon club at Bracken Bank, which involves introducing the same ideas.

I have been working at Braithwaite School with a health and fitness expert, promoting a healthy lifestyle to Post-16 students. These sessions have included forty minutes of physical fitness and then we have been teaching them about how to have a healthy diet, what foods are good for you and which ones are unhealthy.

I am really enjoying my position as a Health Apprentice and especially working out in the community.
