December 2006

As promised from last month BLOGs, (did you think I would forgot?!!!!) I'll now tell you all about the Christmas cookery sessions which were held at Oakbank School in Keighley.
There were 2 sessions, one in the morning and another in the afternoon and we made healthy Christmas biscuits in both sessions. The whole day just seemed to wiz by. It was great to see parents and children interacting together to make something. They were laughing and joking and took great care to make their biscuits just how they wanted them. When it was time to decorate them, the concentration on the children's faces was great to see, as they tried to get them just right. Some biscuits were to eat straight away, and some were going to be put on the Christmas tree. This day was filled with fun friendly cookery, and parents and children having a fantastic time together, and I'm sure they will be back for more.

Most of the rest of December has been taken up with planning Christmas parties for the groups I work and in particular, the 2 luncheon clubs. At all the parties we played secret Santa, (where everyone brings in a gift, they are mixed up and handed back, hopefully to different people), lots of party food, Christmas crackers and party poppers as well.

At all these events and parties everyone had a fantastic time, it was a chance for everyone to come together for a little Christmas cheer, as for some of these people, especially the older ones, it may be the only time they get to celebrate Christmas with other people.
