July 2006I had been watching television and seen an advertisement about drugs and a website called askfrank.com, so I decided to investigate and find out a bit more about it. I went on my PC and looked at different websites and read about problems around drug awareness. One particular site said that they would go to different places and talk about drugs. So I sent them an email asking if they would come to Keighley but they replied saying that they were going to Leeds and had no plans to come to Keighley, but said that they would let me know if they could come to Keighley at some point in the future. Next day at work I told Maxine and John what I had done and they said I had done well for trying and that it was a good idea. It's a shame they couldn't come, as there are a lot of people on drugs in this area, even friends of mine and I wish there was more help available. It would have been great if Frank.com could have come to talk to us. I would have brought my own children along, as they are now at an age where they are asking questions and I think people from Frank.com would have been the ideal people to answer those questions. I have since found out that there are ways to get advice locally including Project 6 in Keighley- Appts 11-19 Temple Street, Keighley BD21 2AD Tel 01535 610180 www.project6.org.uk (A voluntary street drug and alcohol agency in Keighley, West Yorkshire.
