About Michelle

Hello my name is Michelle and I am a mother and have 2 children. I live in Keighley and, as a Health Apprentice I am based at Keith Thompson Centre, where we work in the community café and with a Mother and Toddler group. At the Centre we are getting the toddlers to eat more healthily, such as having 5 fruit or vegetables a day

I am one of 12 Health Apprentices and we are learning about healthy living and healthy lifestyles. The twelve of us has been sent to different places to do our jobs.

I am already a volunteer for Keith Thompson Centre, where I work at weekends doing breakfast for the community. This is ideal, as there are loads of children who live in the area who come for breakfast so we know that they are getting something healthy. We do our sausages in the oven rather than fry them and we grill our bacon and in the Centre we have different coloured knifes for salad, bread and other stuff. We also have cloths, brushes, dustpans and mops for different areas of the building and we are learning new stuff everyday
