Youth groups
The youth group at Hainworth Wood Community Centre have taken on a big project to develop the land behind the community centre and turn it into to an adventure playground. The young people are taking on the project during in their youth session time.
At the Bangladeshi Community Association, the youth group are still doing football as part of their D of E Awards and will be assessed on their football skills in the coming weeks. They are also in the process of planning their summer scheme activities.

Over 50's
The Hainworth Over 50's are still meeting on Tuesdays on a weekly basis. They have a quiz every week, based on general knowledge and they also get a chance to have a massage. For lunch every week, we prepare different healthy eating options, with salad followed by a dessert. The group really enjoys meeting and they hope to have a few days out in the summer.

Neighbourhood Action Planning (NAP)
We have put a questionnaire together for the NAP areas to find out what concerns the residents the most and we have asked them to suggest ways of tackling these problems. We have taken the questionnaires directly into the communities, visiting houses and also to the community centres. We hope to get most of the questionnaires back by the end of August so we can look at the main issues and put project proposals together. Then the plan is to tackle the issues, involving the residents as far as possible.

Others
We had a Keighley VS Away Day with staff and trustees, which was very interesting and useful, as I had not met many KVS trustees before. In the first part of the day, we did activities to get to know each other, and then we worked in teams looking at planning and how to move things forward in the coming years.

I have also been involved in helping to organise various community events in different parts of Keighley. This involved making contact with a range of individuals and organisations, to find out information and to get various resources for the community events.
